Description
Growing up in the mining community of Deal during the 1970’s and 1980’s much of our social activity centered on the social club on Mill Hill. We usually referred to it as the Welfare Club. I spent many evenings there as a kid in that smokey place where your eyes would water at the cigarette smoke, and cutting through that; the scent of sweet stale beer. So many memories good and bad. The pit at Betteshanger is long gone and the spoil heap transformed into a wonderful nature park.
This perfume pulls in smokey vetivert and the sweetness of labdanum to represent (in a much nicer form) that well remembered social club and under there lies the damp woodland scent from the oakmoss to acknowledge the transformation to the new reality of that long gone industry.
